That Gory Animated Film Ending That Lingers Audiences

Among all the adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally viewed, no other has stuck with me quite like the terror-laced ending of a viscerally violent as well as overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spain-based filmmaker developed a dark, melancholy and often savage world that included some tiny , desolate glimmers of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from an impulse to expand the medium even more, the director stated that it was more an attempt to express a widespread, multicultural message about “the shared root of each battle.”

That idea is conveyed through a band of brightly hued teddy bears , openly modeled after a famous series of lovable figures.

Maturing in a community centered on warmongering and the defense industry, numerous these animals are consumed by exterminating unicorns, due to a religious scripture which states them they used to be rulers of the forest, until these creatures drove them out.

Some have not completely bought into the indoctrination, and choose to sample substances or engage sexually in the forest.

In contrast to their cuddly equivalents, these vivid animals have visible sexual organs , obvious libidos.

For a particular especially vicious, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the battle against unicorns turns into a road to power — and specifically to dominance over his softer, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively and a seeming antisocial figure , and as fear dominates his unit and claims his comrades sequentially, he grabs more and more influence for himself, through ever more gory, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, these mythical beings are suffering their own terror, through a growing, harmful creature in their woods.

“In the early stages, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker commented. “However it becomes a more serious and sorrowful film. And in the finale, it becomes a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins resembling among the whimsical features by a renowned filmmaker, that uncover a wicked pleasure in allowing cartoon characters swear, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Afterward it turns into something more like a darker work from the same director, featuring progressively visual gore and a noticeable connection to the actual tragedy of conflict.

In the finale, it is a full-on theatrical horror carnage.

The terror which makes this a perfect Halloween watch begins well before than one might expect.

Unicorn Wars is one for the hardcore gorehounds, for fans of intense movies who desire to view something they’ve never viewed until now, and who can handle a narrative that pulls no restraint.

Watch it in a dimly lit space free from interruptions, and that ending will crawl under your skin and linger.
