Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
