In a surprising partnership that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.

The questline concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana together with numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
